The IQprop button
One click on a Property24 or Private Property listing, and the figures are in the calculator — no typing. One more click on the rentals page, and you have the area rent for homes like it.
Easiest: the IQprop button for Chrome
Add it to Chrome once. Then paste any Property24 or Private Property link into IQprop and press Submit. The price, levy, rates, bedrooms, bathrooms and garages fill in, and so does the rent of similar homes in the suburb — nothing to type.
Add IQprop to Chrome — freeFree. Works in Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft Edge on a computer. It only reads the Property24 or Private Property listing you ask for, only when you press Submit — it cannot see your email, banking or anything else you do online. IQprop’s servers never visit either site. More answers

Questions
Do I need it?
No. Everything in IQprop works without it. You can always type the figures in yourself — it takes about a minute. The add-on just does the typing for you.
What does it cost?
Nothing. It is free on every plan, including the free plan.
Is it safe? What can it see?
It only opens Property24 and Private Property listings, and only when you press Submit in IQprop (or click its icon on a listing). It cannot read your email, your banking, your passwords or any other website.
The figures it reads go straight into the IQprop page on your screen. They are not sent to IQprop’s servers. Nothing is saved unless you choose to save the analysis.
Google checks every add-on before it is allowed into the Chrome Web Store.
Does it work on my phone or tablet?
Phones and tablets don’t allow add-ons like this, so the figures are not filled in for you. On your phone:
- In the Property24 or Private Property app, tap Share and then Copy link.
- Paste the link into IQprop and press Submit. IQprop finds the rentals nearby.
- Type in the price, levy and rates from the listing.
On an Android phone it is quicker: add IQprop to your home screen once, and you can share listings straight to it.
Does it work in Edge, Safari or Firefox?
Microsoft Edge: yes. When the Chrome Web Store opens, Edge may ask you to “Allow extensions from other stores”. Click Allow, then “Add to Chrome”.
Firefox: yes. IQprop offers you the Firefox version when you open it in Firefox.
Safari: no. Use the IQprop bookmark button instead — it works in any browser on a computer, with nothing to install.
It can’t read the listing. What now?
- Open the listing and check it is still for sale.
- Refresh the IQprop page and press Submit again.
- Still stuck? Type the figures in yourself — everything else works the same.
If Property24 or Private Property change their website, figures may come back empty until we update IQprop. It leaves a figure empty rather than guess. Tell us at support@iqprop.co.za and we will fix it.
What it does, exactly
The button runs in your browser, on the page you have open, only when you click it. It reads the figures shown on that page and opens IQprop with them. IQprop’s servers never visit Property24 or Private Property, and nothing is stored on our side — the figures travel in the web address after the # sign, which browsers do not send to any server. Check what it read before relying on it: listings are written by agents, and not every listing shows the levy or rates.
